Chardonnay Cask-fermented - Vintage 2004
It comes from a summer with high temperatures and little rain. The harvest was held on the 21st of August. The grape juice fermented in French oak casks for three weeks in a climate-controlled wine cellar at a temperature of 14ºC. Afterwards, the wine continued to age in the same casks for 9 months, until it was bottled. During this time, the batonnage technique was performed on the casks.
Appearance: The yellow colour of fresh hay with green and golden highlights.
Aroma: The toasted, smoked smells of the cask dominate, mixed with those of the variety of grape, and fruits such as apricot and almond. Some forest grass aromas also appear, mixed with vanilla.
Taste: The palate is very rounded and balanced, with body. Its acidity is correct. The combination of smokiness with a fruity, syrupy taste stands out. The aftertaste is pleasant and lasts for some time, leaving a pleasant Chardonnay taste in one’s mouth.
