Châteauneuf du Pape – Red - 2007 Vintage

Technical data:

Terroir: Siliceous clay and smooth stones

Vinification: Destemming, vatting for 20 days, daily pumping-over and delestage. Temperature 27-32°C.

Maturing: 10-12 months in vats and 2-4 months in bottles.

Tasting notes and Accompaniment advice: This wine is generally very deep red tinted with brown. It is aromatic with definite notes of spice. The mouth is pleasant and round with touches of liquorice and a fragrance of garrigue. Highly structured, it has an excellent balance of alcohol and tannins. It has the robustness needed for cellaring. It will go well with roast or casseroled meat, game and especially cheese.

Ageing potential: 3-4 years.

 

 

 

 

Grape varieties: Grenache 80% - mourvèdre, syrah 20%.
