Château L’Escart-Cuvée Prestige

Location: On a beautiful soil in Saint Loubès, on the right bank.
Vineyard area: The Cuvée Prestige comes from the oldest vines out of the 24 hectares that composes the vineyard.
Soil: Clayey, silty, calcareous and gravely.
Grapes varieties: 66 % Merlot noir, 16 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc
Age of the vines: 49
Harvesting: Green harvest, leaf removals, measured treatments. Mechanical harvesting parcel by parcel. Double sorting-out
Winemaking: Cold prefermentary maceration. Winemaking parcel by parcel in stainless steel vats with automatic temperature monitor and a long vatting. The wine is produced with the collaboration of the oenologist Jean Philippe Fort, from the team of Michel Rolland.
Ageing: For 12 months in oak barrels, renewed by half every year.
Powerful and elegant wine with a deep colour, a round, fleshy and long mouth with intense aromas of clove, resin, wax and candied fruit. Can be drunk when still young because of the suppleness of its tannins. Gold and Silver Medails at the Wine International Challenge and at the Concours des Grands Vins de France.
